    EDUCATION: David was first educated at St.Mary's Church of England Hall which was later to become Shelford Girls School. In 1923 he became with his brother, Blyth, a weekly boarder at Caulfield Grammar School even though it was only walking distance from home. He later attended Melbourne Grammar School for three years, after which he was sent to the Bradshaw and Everett Business College which was situated where the Victorian Arts Centre now stands. He was taught typing, shorthand and bookeeping over a period of 18 months. MILITARY: In June 1940 David enlisted in the A.I.F. and was placed in a new unit, 1st Ordnance Field Park. In January 1941 he set sail for the Middle East via Sri Lanka. He disembarked at Suez and crossed the Sinai Desert to Palestine. He returned to Australia in March 1943 and completed an extensive ordnance course and was posted to Land Headquarters at Albert Park. David was discharged from the Army in late 1945. OCCUPATION: Over the years David has been successfully involved in selling hosiery and associated products both as an employee and owner of several retail outlets.

There are eleven children of Jonathan and Mary listed on Mary's death certificate, James and the first John had their ages are given as 0 although James reached at least 10 years by 1841, there was evidence of another son, Jonathan who was Christened on the same day as Agnes and was her twin.
