    She was a School Teacher living at home with mother and 3 siblings in Lincoln, Monroe Co. according to the 1905 WI State Census, the 1911 Madison Directory has her as a Stenographer and living at Conklin Place with her mother Julia and her sister Jennie. 1930 Census, Madison, Dane, WI. single, Typist, 43yo.with her mother and her sister Jennie.
    Wright's City Directory 1939 for Madison has her as a Stenographer with Scanlan-Morris Co. 1940 Census has her living with her sister Jennie and Nephew Mortimer Robert Staley at 1926 Keyes Ave. Madison, still employed as a Stenographer.

    Notes:

    Jonathan studied in Chicago for some years, firstly obtaining his BA at the University of Chicago mid 1875, this was reported in the Chicago Daily Tribune of July 1, they gave his address as Portage City, WI and a short paragraph on his speech t the "Greek Mind". he received his Bachelor of Divinity Degree at the Baptist Theological Seminary, Chicago, this was reported in the same paper on May 9, 1879, his address was given as West Du (De) Pere, WI, his speech was entitled "Christianitity and Intellectual Quickening". A newspaper report found of Jonathan was in the Dodge County Pionier of Thursday 17 Sept. 1891(translated from German) where he was in a list of Beaver Dam School Teachers, teaching Latin at the Wayland Academymy. Jonathan was recorded in the 1895 WI State Census which listed only Heads of Families, he was living at Beaver Dam and the family consisted of 4 males and 4 females. He served in numerous Baptist Parishes in Wisconsin, around 1910/11 he wawas Superintendent of the Society for the Friendless in Kansas. Jonathan became a US Citizen on the 15th. Nov. 1920, his Naturalization card has his address as 712 State St. Madison, WI. He was residing with his sister Catharine in Minneapolis when he passed away in 1929.

    The 1905 WI State Census has her with 4 of her children, listed as Wife although Jonathan was not recorded with them at rented premises in Lincoln, Monroe Co. she was recorded in 1910 Census at Madison, Dane, WI with her 3 youngest children, the 1911 Madison Directory has her living in Conklin Place with Jennie and Dora, by 1920 only Dora is with her there, in 1930 Jennie and Dora are both there (and single).

    Sailed with Catharine, Janet and Jonathan on the "Carolina" from Glasgow, arriving in New York on April 12, 1849, their voyage may have been arranged by the Potters' Emigration Society, which at this time, was taking in those of other occupationns, to their scheme to settle workers on to land in Wisconsin, USA, unfortunately the scheme was declared bankrupt in late 1850. The census of Sep. 1850 had him as a Farmer in Port Hope, Columbia County, WI, but in the census of June 1860 he was a Day Labourer, residing in Portage City, Columbia County. He served in the 1st Wisconsin Heavy Artillery in Civil War, in May 1877, he was naturalised at Portage, WI. The1880 US Census gives his occupation as Laborer, living in Portage, Columbia, WI. Resided for a short time in La Crosse, WI, before going to South Dakota, listed on the Veterans Schedule of 1890 Census in Madison, Lake, SD with Asthma and died there in 1890. Has a Headstone in the Graceland Cemetery which was readable in 2006.

There are eleven children of Jonathan and Mary listed on Mary's death certificate, James and the first John had their ages are given as 0 although James reached at least 10 years by 1841, there was evidence of another son, Jonathan who was Christened on the same day as Agnes and was her twin.
