Notes - Jonathan studied in Chicago for some years, firstly obtaining his BA at the University of Chicago mid 1875, this was reported in the Chicago Daily Tribune of July 1, they gave his address as Portage City, WI and a short paragraph on his speech t the "Greek Mind". he received his Bachelor of Divinity Degree at the Baptist Theological Seminary, Chicago, this was reported in the same paper on May 9, 1879, his address was given as West Du (De) Pere, WI, his speech was entitled "Christianitity and Intellectual Quickening". A newspaper report found of Jonathan was in the Dodge County Pionier of Thursday 17 Sept. 1891(translated from German) where he was in a list of Beaver Dam School Teachers, teaching Latin at the Wayland Academymy. Jonathan was recorded in the 1895 WI State Census which listed only Heads of Families, he was living at Beaver Dam and the family consisted of 4 males and 4 females. He served in numerous Baptist Parishes in Wisconsin, around 1910/11 he wawas Superintendent of the Society for the Friendless in Kansas. Jonathan became a US Citizen on the 15th. Nov. 1920, his Naturalization card has his address as 712 State St. Madison, WI. He was residing with his sister Catharine in Minneapolis when he passed away in 1929.
